Burger King is upgrading enterprise operations with a new POS platform.

A fast food hamburger giant is streamlining enterprise management with a new POS system.

Burger King is selecting Par, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Par Technology Corp., as its exclusive POS software and services provider. The retailer is deploying Par Brink POS and marketplace order management software, along with the Par Menu Link omnichannel ordering solution, for Burger King traditional restaurants in North America.

Leveraging the cloud-native Par platform, Burger King intends to facilitate omni-channel ordering, kitchen management, restaurant operations, and analytics in a fully configurable system. Burger King will utilize the Brink POS solution’s application programming interfaces (APIs) to integrate its existing IT stacks with the new Par system.

In addition, Burger King will use Par Menu Link technology in an effort to streamline external order management into a single system across its delivery marketplace by integrating third-party ordering platforms, with the goal of minimizing errors, increasing efficiency and improving customer satisfaction.

Burger King invests in growth

In fall 2022, Burger King launched a multi-point rejuvenation effort, called “Reclaim the Flame,” as part of a larger plan to energize lagging U.S. sales. The fast-food giant designed the plan in collaboration with franchisees from across the country and unveiled it at its annual franchisee convention.

The plan includes Burger King investing $400 million over the next two years, including $250 million for a "Royal Reset" modernization program. Another $150 million is targeted for advertising and digital investments. Burger King franchisees representing more than 93% of all U.S. restaurants have endorsed the plan and have agreed to co-invest in increased advertising expenses over the coming years.

Founded in 1954 and headquartered in Miami, the Burger King system operates more than 18,700 locations in more than 100 countries and U.S. territories, including about 7,000 U.S. locations Almost 100% of Burger King restaurants are owned and operated by independent franchisees.
