The Empire State Realty Trust has hired Newmark leasing standout Scott Klau and his team to bring a new spate of amenities to the Empire State Building that will include a 15,000-sq.-ft. fitness center with a basketball court, seven new food and beverage tenants, golf simulators—and millions of Cinnamon Roll Frappuccinos and Vanilla Lattes.
The aim of the big project is to tempt the skyscraper’s massive tenant population to abandon their home offices in Long Island, New Jersey, and Westchester County and head back to the workaday world in the Big Apple.
"Our partnership with Scott Klau and his team has been tremendously successful. Now with our large block availability, we offer a destination for all sizes of tenants in their flights to quality," said ESRT CEO Anthony E. Malkin, who said the project’s mission was to fully modernize the building built in the 1930s with superior amenities and turnkey services.
Tacomi and State Grill and Bar are two of the tenants already signed to join Starbucks as part of the building’s new food and beverage roster.
Unrivaled amenities and offerings, said Klau, “are a true employee attraction and retention tool for today's world."
The new amenity package will be housed in a 274,000-sq.-ft. block of space on the Empire State Building’s concourse level that will include 24,000 sq. ft. dedicated to retail tenants.
