Casper has unveiled an immersive store format that includes its first-ever “pillow lab” and nap appointments complete with “sleep provisions” kits.

The mattress, bedding and furniture retailer has revamped its store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif. The new design include both digital touchpoints and touch-and-feel materials that allow shoppers to experience the innovation behind Casper’s product technology, the company said.

“Inspired by Casper Labs, Casper’s research and development arm, the store brings to life the three pillars of our R&D: cooling, support and comfort,” said Brad Bailey, chief sales officer of Casper.

The reimagined store includes a dedicated “snooze bar” consultation area, where employees can educate customers on all things sleep, including the products that best address their needs and lifestyle and how to create a sleep environment to achieve their best sleep.

Other new features include:

•An interactive “pillow lab” experience where customers can test Casper pillows. The area includes a visual celebration of the materials that make up each Casper pillow;

•A “bunkhouse getaway” for kids to enjoy while their parents shop. It includes a fully outfitted miniature room with a twin-size mattress to test for for kids looking to get a better night’s sleep; and

•A bedroom design center that provides anyone — from interior designers to regular customers — with a personalized experience to visually design and curate their ideal sleep setup with any product in Casper’s portfolio.

Customers can also book complimentary nap appointments, choosing 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or one hour, where they can experience a personalized trial of the product offerings. After check-in, all belongings will be safely stored in a locker and guests will be provided a sleep provisions kit, which includes various items that aid better sleep and relaxation (eye mask, essential oils, etc.)

"At Casper, we believe that sleep is essential for well-being and happiness, said Ben McCarthy, director of visual merchandising at Casper. “That's why we have created a new Casper Sleep Shop for customers to experience our products in a comfortable, engaging, and educational environment product displays encourage shoppers to touch, feel, and learn about the
design behind Casper’s obsessively engineered sleep offerings."

Casper products are available to purchase in-store for shoppers to carry out and use that night or to deliver to their doorsteps as early as the next day. Free delivery is available, as well as in-home delivery and pickup options.
