QVC and HSN will appear on Redbox Free Live TV.
The QVC and HSN linear channels are now available on a free TV streaming app.
Multiplatform video commerce provider Qurate Retail Group is launching its QVC and HSN linear channels on the Redbox streaming app. QVC and HSN are the only livestream shopping channels available on the Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment-owned Redbox Free Live TV service, accessible to consumers via the free Redbox app.
QVC and HSN will offer Redbox’s audience approximately 40 hours a day of live video commerce programming across both channels. The two streaming retail channels will join over 160 channels on Redbox Free Live TV, which is available on the web and as an app on entertainment platforms including Roku devices, connected TVs, gaming platforms, and iOS and Android devices.
QVC and HSN will appear in the Redbox “Travel and Lifestyle” collection alongside about 12 other channels. They will be highlighted initially in the “Featured” collection at the top of the home page.
“Redbox Free Live TV now has two unique livestream shopping experiences – QVC and HSN – each with its own celebrities, hosts, product offerings and on-air style,” said David Apostolico, senior VP platform strategy, development & distribution, vCommerce Ventures at Qurate Retail Group. “This provides yet another way for new and existing customers to conveniently access our engaging v-commerce content.”
“As we continue to build our Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) service, we want to offer a variety of programming for everyone,” said Phil Oppenheim, chief content officer of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. “QVC and HSN are strong brands that consumers love to engage with and watch for hours. We’re excited to launch their channels today.”
According to Qurate Retail Group, this offering reflects a continued strategic initiative to expand the reach of its channels and streaming offering across new media and digital platforms, including over-the-top devices and services, shoppable apps, social media, digital over-the-air networks, mobile apps, and websites.
QVC and HSN branch into new livestream platforms
In June 2022, Qurate Retail launched a web version of its interactive streaming shopping service for its QVC and HSN banners. The QVC+ and HSN+ streaming experience is available to approximately 120 million internet-connected homes in the U.S., as well as across several popular streaming platforms.
The company offers its interactive streaming shopping service for its QVC and HSN banners on Samsung Smart TVs. The service combines live, on-demand and streaming-only content together in one fully shoppable app.
QVC also recently launched the first livestream shopping channel on FuboTV. QVC is offering 20 hours a day of live video commerce programming (and four hours of prerecorded content), featuring premier brands and new products presented by celebrities and other personalities who engage with customers in real-time across multiple platforms.
