Second Bloomie’s location set to open in Chicago

“Bloomie's is a new take on Bloomingdale's,” says the department store chain’s CEO Tony Spring—and now Chicagoland is ready to take it in.

Bloomingdales will open its second, smaller-format Bloomie's store next month at the Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie after debuting the concept in Fairfax, Va.’s Mosaic District last year.

“Our guests will still be offered an assortment of contemporary and luxury brands across men and women's fashion, home and beauty,” Spring said about Bloomies, “but with a fresh take on the shopping experience."

Bloomie’s highlights:  

• The 51,000 sq.-ft. location will offer a hyper-curated product assortment featuring top brands across all departments, which include apparel, shoes, handbags, home, beauty, and accessories;
• A new tech-enabled stylist service will give visitors personalized recommendations as they shop; and
•  The bCafé, Bloomie’s new restaurant, will offer "light American cuisine with a modern flair," as well as cocktails and frozen yogurt.

The new store opens on Nov. 17 with "10 Days of Bloomie's," a series of holiday-inspired events that include:

Branded Activations: From Nov. 21-23, a variety of brands will offer exclusive experiences for customers, from customizations to specialty restaurant events. Complimentary events will then continue throughout the holidays, with monogramming and embroidery opportunities, and cookie and cupcake giveaways.  

Westfield x Bloomie's Trolley: Starting on Nov. 25 and continuing through the holiday season, families hop aboard Santa's trolley, where they can go through the "Trolley Checklist" to redeem a Bloomie's gift card.

Fragrance Fair: From Dec. 10-11, guests will find live holiday music, engraving, customization, and gift wrapping.

Bloomingdale's operates 34 Bloomingdale's stores and 20 Bloomingdale's The Outlet stores, in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. There are also locations in Dubai and Kuwait.
