Target gives inside view of its ‘stores-as-hubs’ strategy
Target Corp. is offering some of the insights behind one of its core business strategies.
The retailer has launched a new video series — On Target — in which it will examine the unique capabilities behind some of its core business strategies, with insights from company leaders.
In the first installment, COO John Mulligan, chief stores officer Mark Schindele, and chief supply chain and logistics officer Gretchen McCarthy, along with members of the company store and supply chain leadership teams, discuss how Target’s stores-as-hub strategy is driving growth and unlocking the full potential of its stores, from boosting inventory and supply chain capacity to intensifying guest loyalty.
“Stores-as-hubs is about creating a great guest experience in-store. And then it’s also providing guests with the convenience to interact with us however they want, when they want, the way they want,” said Mulligan.
The video includes the origins and drivers of Target’s stores-as-hubs strategy and how the company seeks to differentiate through same-day fulfillment services such as Target Drive Up. It also looks at the next evolution of Target’s last-mile journey: its sortation centers and the Target Last Mile Delivery extension.
