Madewell has revamped its store experience.

The retailer has opened a new outpost, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, that reflects the brand’s new store design concept.  It plans to roll out the concept to additional locations throughout the year.

The 5,400-sq.-ft. space (includes 3,400 sq. ft. of selling space) was designed by an internal team. Customer furniture, pendant lighting and other details provide a refined atmosphere, enhanced by a minimalist approach to architecture.

Additional features include a new denim shopping experience, with dimensional denim tables, a lounge area and decor from local artists. The fitting rooms have been updated with white denim curtains and arched entries.

A division of J.Crew, Madewell operates approximately 150 stores across the U.S. and Canada.
