A fast-growing restaurant chain is charging forward with its expansion plans.

Chicken Salad Chick, a fast-casual brand that serves Southern-style chicken salad made from scratch, announced the signing of a six-unit development deal in the Virginia Beach metro.

Franchisee Melissa Holt, who opened a Hampton, Va., location in December and forged the agreement, will install restaurants in Williamsburg, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.

“Our brand reach is continuing to spread into the Northeast, and franchise partners like Melissa Holt are a huge reason for that, sharing our enthusiasm for nationwide growth,” said Chicken Salad Chick CEO Scott Deviney.

This will more than double the fast-growing QSR’s Virginia presence, whose five other shops are in in Glen Allen, Mechanicsville, Christiansburg, Roanoke, and Hampton. The first of the six new locations is slated to open next summer 2023, with the remaining five coming on stream over the next three-and-a-half years.

Chicken Salad Chick has plans to open more than 50 locations by this year. Its overall development goal is to have 500 locations open and operating by the end of 2025.
