Brian Ferguson has been names chief merchandising officer of EG America.

C-store giant EG America has made two additions to its leadership team.

The company, operator of Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Kwik Shop, Tom Thumb and other convenience-store chains has named Brian Ferguson as chief marketing officer, where he will lead retail merchandising, food and dispensed beverage, marketing, category management  and all merchandising support functions.

Ferguson most recently served as chief merchant for Pilot Company, the largest travel center network in North America. He previously held a variety of senior roles with AM Retail Group, The Children’s Place and Abercrombie & Fitch.

In addition, Brian Potvin has joined EG America as VP of procurement, where he will lead the centralization of the procurement process across EG America’s 10 retail banners and its corporate support functions.

Most recently, Potvin was VP of procurement at Sevita Health. Before that, he held several strategic procurement and financial inventory control roles at BJ’s Wholesale Club, from 2007 to 2017.

“We are thrilled to have Brian Ferguson and Brian Potvin join the EG America team,” said John Carey, who was named president and CEO of EG America in October. “Their extensive experience and expertise in their respective areas will help drive our go-to-market strategy and strengthen vital areas of our business. We are entering an exciting chapter in our company’s history, and with their addition to our leadership team, we are poised to take EG America, and our banners, to the next level.”

EG America is part of UK-based EG Group, which entered the United States in 2018 when it acquired the Kroger’s Co.’s convenience store business. The U.S. is now the company’s largest market, both by revenue and sites.

With more than 1,600 retail locations, EG America is the operator of Certified Oil, Cumberland Farms, Fastrac, Kwik Shop, Loaf N’ Jug, Minit Mart, Quik Stop, Sprint Food Stores, Tom Thumb, and Turkey Hill stores.
