Hy-Vee is offering national delivery of select products.
A regional Midwest grocery/convenience chain is launching two websites with ship-to-home services available across the country.
The two websites, Hy-VeeDeals.com and ShopPetship.com, will make a variety of bulk grocery products, home goods and pet supplies available to shoppers throughout the U.S.
Hy-VeeDeals.com, the company’s existing website that aggregates all weekly ads, digital coupons and special deals, now also features bulk products that can be shipped directly to customers. Shoppers can order products including snacks, as well as household essentials, cleaning products, and housewares. In-store customers will be able to take advantage of bulk savings offered through Hy-VeeDeals.com with a QR code displayed on store shelves.
ShopPetShip.com offers an assortment of food, treats and supplies for many pets. Customers can also take advantage of subscription services to have pet supplies shipped directly to their homes.
Hy-Vee has been expanding its online shopping options and supply chain capabilities since it discovered that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused more consumers to shop online and create higher demand in its virtual shopping space. In fall 2020, the retailer partnered with on-demand delivery platform DoorDash to provide home delivery of online grocery deliveries.
More recently, Hy-Vee began enabling consumers across Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska to order alcohol directly within the Hy-Vee grocery marketplace stores on the DoorDash app and website.
In addition, utilizing Google Cloud technology, Hy-Vee has been localizing information and features to make it easier for customers to shop online while it provides more personalized service, easier ordering, pickup and delivery, and predictive shopping carts.
And with the recent launch of the Hy-Vee Plus paid membership program, Hy-Vee has been working to provide more perks and benefits to its shoppers, including more personalized coupons, an integrated shopping experience across its app, and better online shopping experience. The company expects the continued integration of Google Cloud functionality will help it launch future innovations.
Hy-Vee Inc. is also implementing the Manhattan Associates transportation management system (TMS) to assist with its supply chain operations. Carrying a wide selection of fresh products, Hy-Vee required a highly efficient and reliable infrastructure that could move perishable items through its distribution network with better accuracy and output.
The retailer selected the Manhattan Associates solution because it can optimize both inbound and outbound orders holistically within a single TMS environment, as well as model transportation network changes to improve cost and service.
“Hy-Vee has been a leader in the e-commerce space for many years since the start of our Aisles Online service. With Hy-VeeDeals we can share bulk product deals with the entire country,” said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee’s chairman and CEO. “Additionally, PetShip will bring a variety of pet products to shoppers across the country, along with our first subscription service option, which in return will save consumers time and money.”
Headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, Hy-Vee Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 280 retail stores across eight Midwestern states – Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
